Faces from Places, an animated series directed by Bastien Dubois offers us a trip across the world from countries such as Quebec, to Greece, to Armenia, to Pakistan, to Reunion, to Rajasthan in India – to name a few just a few. Visualised through the eyes of a traveller, these 3-minute animation shorts vibrantly depict true to life experiences, through a range of styles and techniques of illustration. Bastien's workshop promises to take us on yet another journey of sorts, as we explore his various animation styles.
Since his childhood, Bastien Dubois was strongly encouraged by his parents to drawing and later started artistic studies, which lead him to his graduation in infography direction at Supinfocom Valenciennes (France). His animated film “Madagascar, Carnet de Voyage” was nominated for the Oscars in 2011.
