Mahesh Vinayakram (IN)

Mahesh Vinayakram, son of ghatam legend Padmabhushan T.H.Vikku Vinayakram, is one of India’s leading Carnatic and world music artists. Starting his career as a solo vocalist at the age of 12, he is a senior disciple of Smt. Radha Viswanathan, and has had vocal lessons from gurus like H.Y. Narayanan, O.S. Thiagarajan, Savithiri Sathyamurthy, and Bhagavathulu Seetharama Sarma.

Mahesh has also collaborated in contemporary projects with world class musicians like Zakir Hussain, Business Class Refugees, Steve Smith, Sandeep Raval, Talvin Singh, George Brooks, Kai, James Asher, Jonas Hellborg, Pete Lockett to name a few, and is a member of Sapthaakshara, a family band led by his father and brothers. A recipient of countless awards, Mahesh has performed in numerous concerts and sabhas across India, and extensively tours worldwide.
