IndiEarth Profile

Newborns attempts to provide a lens to the survivors of acid violence, to look forward and gaze back. They take us through the ennui of their domestic and public spaces in a nameless dystopian city, its factories, houses and motels, and its promises, never honoured.

Megha Ramaswamy is a screenwriter, director and a film producer based in Mumbai. Her screenplay, ‘Girls’ was selected at the NFDC Binger screenwriter’s lab (Venice, Goa) and had been shortlisted by the Sundance Institute writer’s lab 2012. At Recyclewala Labs, the studio collaborating in the production of ‘the Newborns’, Megha provides creative supervision to the narrative fiction and transmedia projects in development.

Her banner, Missfit Films, is dedicated to producing innovative films, which don’t necessarily subscribe to being independent or commercial. Of the several scripts in development, ‘Girls’ is currently in production.
