Duration: 1 hour
Indian films have long explored the complexities of social norms, taboos and the Indian underbelly, but the statements and confrontations now seem more defined, much louder and clearer than ever before. Through cinematic frames, the renegade filmmaker, the documenter and the story-teller reflect Indian sensibilities that are otherwise often swept underground, delving into expression, oppression, violence, dualities – without apology or fear of retribution. Does the Indian audience remain an armchair spectator, or is it proactive in the honest conversation?
Speakers: Megha Ramaswamy (Recyclewala - IN), Cavin C Moulee (Chennai International Queer Film Festival - IN), Aban Raza (Agniputra Films - IN), Sudhish Kamath (Filmmaker - IN), in conversation with Nitesh Mohanty (The Root Reel - IN)
