FILM
Hard hitting cinema that candidly zooms into injustice, violence, political atrocities, sexuality and sensitive social issues invariably invokes strong political reactions, religious anger, and touches raw nerves, whipping up mass sentiment or crossing archaic legal lines. Against the walls of moral policing, social ‘over-sensitivities’, and potentially volatile audiences, there is the filmmaker’s mission to tell the uncomfortable story that needs to be told, for the film to reach audiences who need to know. From shooting on-location to distribution – and for some, persecution – how does the filmmaker navigate these waters?
Speakers: Nilotpal Majumdar (DocEdge - IN), Amit Dubey (Filmmaker - KH), Qaushiq Mukherjee - (Overdose Films - IN), Harold Monfils (Monfils Pictures - MY), in conversation with Gurpal Singh (Bring Your Own Film Festival - IN)
